Overview: The “Technology-Enabled Active Learning (TEAL)” method originated at MIT and is grounded in social constructivist learning theory. It is a pedagogical model that combines technology and active learning, typically implemented in classrooms with flexible grouping arrangements, projection screens, and interactive tools. Its core philosophy is to “get students moving”:  shifting them from passive listeners to active participants through small-group discussion, real-time interaction, hands-on activities, and digital tools. Technology also enables teachers to quickly gauge student comprehension and adjust the pace of instruction accordingly.

Description: TEAL is especially suited to subjects that require hands-on work, collaboration, or concept construction. Whenever a course aims to boost interaction and engagement, TEAL can deliver outstanding results. Our university has established multiple TEAL-equipped smart classrooms featuring flexible grouping, real-time interaction, and collaborative technology. Faculty are warmly encouraged to take full advantage of these spaces
