Overview: “Innovative Teaching Courses” refer to courses that incorporate diverse and creative instructional approaches, enabling students to develop humanistic literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills beyond content knowledge alone. Innovation takes many forms, including humanities care, social engagement, information literacy, interdisciplinary learning, STEAM, generative AI, sustainable development, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), co-teaching, and cross-institutional collaboration. Faculty are encouraged to design their courses flexibly based on the distinctive features of their subject matter.
Description: These courses are particularly suitable for faculty who wish to increase classroom interactivity, guide students toward deeper thinking, or connect learning to real-world contexts and social issues. Our university has established relevant subsidy programs to encourage faculty to plan and apply for Innovative Teaching Courses. Through innovative instruction, students learn more meaningfully and with greater relevance to practice — and faculty can showcase their teaching strengths and amplify their course’s impact.
