Overview: “Co-teaching” involves at least two faculty members from different disciplines simultaneously attending and co-instructing the same course, collaborating to design course content that integrates and innovates across fields. This model emphasizes the joint participation of faculty, rather than mere coordination, with the aim of cultivating students’ capacity for interdisciplinary integration. Faculty teach students in different locations simultaneously through real-time interactive instruction, typically using video systems, online collaboration tools, and interactive platforms to make two or more classrooms feel like “one shared classroom.” Students can listen, ask questions, and discuss in sync, while faculty can respond in real time, call on students, and facilitate activities, enabling cross-campus, cross-regional, or even international learning to proceed smoothly.
Description: Co-teaching is especially suitable for language learning, general education courses, management and business courses, cross-institutional courses, and any subject requiring cross-site collaboration or interaction. It is particularly effective for sharing resources and benefiting a wider student population. Our university has equipped multiple smart classrooms to support co-teaching, featuring synchronous remote connectivity, real-time interaction, and collaborative tools. Faculty are warmly encouraged to make full use of these facilities.
