To encourage faculty members in higher education to integrate their teaching experience with research methodology—enhancing classroom teaching quality and student learning outcomes—the Ministry of Education has launched the Teaching Practice Research Program. It provides both resources and institutional support to strengthen teaching innovation and application.

Encourage faculty to integrate real classroom practice with research methods to improve course quality.

Support innovative teaching design, teaching material development, and the use of digital media.

Enhance students' motivation and learning outcomes.

Promote a student-centered teaching culture.

👩‍🏫 Eligibility

Faculty members at public or private colleges and universities.

Applicants must hold at least an Assistant Professor rank, or be lecturers with proven teaching achievements or awards.

Those with both teaching experience and research capability are given priority.

📅 Implementation Schedule

Application deadlines are announced annually; proposals must be submitted according to the official timeline.

Project period runs from August 1 of the current year to July 31 of the following year.

One extension may be requested, up to six months (special cases may allow further extension).

💰 Funding

Up to NT$500,000 per project per year.

Personnel costs may not exceed 60% of the total budget; teaching or research assistants may be hired.

Doctoral assistants can receive up to NT$10,000/month each, not counted toward the 60% personnel cap.

The subsidy includes a 15% administrative fee, which can be used for teaching-related activities and outreach.

🔍 Review and Approval

Applications are reviewed by discipline-specific expert committees.

Evaluation criteria include innovation, feasibility, teaching impact, and expected outcomes.

Review results are typically published within six months each year.

🧾 Deliverables and Obligations

A final report must be submitted and made publicly accessible (delayed release may be requested).

Participation in the MOE's results presentation and training events is required.

Project outcomes may be used as reference for academic promotion and teaching performance assessment.

Duplicate funding for the same project is not allowed.

Academic ethics and integrity must be followed throughout the implementation.

Violations may result in revoked subsidies, disqualification, or blacklisting.
